Leverage and Impact

From the outsed of this philanthropic collaborative in 2001, the intent of NRFC founders has been to leverage $100 million dollars in a ten year period to support work in rural regions and to identify lessons that could inform other regional and national grant makers.

In the first phase of its work from July 2001 - June 2006, NRFC's more than $3 million in direct grantmaking leveraged an additional $41 million -- placing it at closed to half of its ten-year goal.

The second phase of NRFC's work anticipates a commitment of more than $1 million in direct grantmaking per year for the next five years -- leveraged by additional public, private and philanthropic funding.
