The Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation concentrates on assisting people in the Southeast to build just and caring communities that nurture people, spur enterprise, bridge differences, foster fairness and promote civility. In order to effect demonstrable progress in areas where poverty prevails and race divides, Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation is committed to community problem solving, building wealth and long-term assets in low-wealth communities, and developing grassroots leaders and organizations.

Otto Bremer Foundation
The Otto Bremer Foundation remains committed to the countryside with a focus on the rural regions served by Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Montana. Otto Bremer Foundation's mission is to promote human rights and create opportunities for economic and social justice.

The California Endowment
The California Endowment is committed to working with organizations and institutions that directly benefit the health and well-being of Californians.  Their mission is to expand affordable, quality health care for underserved inidviduals and communities, and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.

Calvert Social Investment Foundation
The Calvert Social Investment Foundation (Calvert Foundation) was established with a simple goal: to help end poverty through investment. It serves as a facility for individuals and institutions, seeking to place capital on softer terms to finance affordable homes, fund small and micro businesses and to make available essential community services. Calvert Foundation works in disadvantaged communities with local partner non-profits that use common sense and compassion to provide the investment capital people need to work themselves out of poverty.

The Annie E. Casey Foundation
The Annie E. Casey Foundation works to build better futures for millions of disadvantaged children in the U.S. who are at risk of poor educational, economic, social, and health outcomes. The primary mission of Annie E. Casey Foundation is to foster public policies, human service reforms, and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today's vulnerable children and families.

Fannie Mae Foundation
The Fannie Mae Foundation creates affordable homeownership and housing opportunities through innovative partnerships and initiatives that build healthy, vibrant communities across the United States. In 2000, Fannie Mae Foundation announced its New Century Initiative and the five components that will drive the Foundation's grantmaking priorities for the next five years: wealth creation through information; capital resources for the future; building healthy communities; enhancing the quality of life in Washington, D.C.; and knowledge access.

The Ford Foundation
The Ford Foundation is a resource for innovative people and institutions worldwide. Ford Foundation's Asset Building and Community Development program helps strengthen and increase the effectiveness of people and organizations working to find solutions to problems of poverty and injustice.

William Randolph Hearst Foundation
The charitable goal of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation reflects the philanthropic interests of William Randolph Hearst -- Education, Health, Social Service and Culture. Within these four areas, the Foundation assists institutions in providing opportunities to underserved and underrepresented populations.

F.B. Heron Foundation
The F.B. Heron Foundation's mission is helping people and communities to help themselves and favors programs that promote wealth creation strategies for low-income families in urban and rural communities. The F.B. Heron Foundation has recently consolidated its grantmaking and social investing to five core wealth-creation strategies for low-income families and communities: increasing access to capital, supporting enterprise development, advancing home ownership, reducing the barriers to full participation in the economy by providing quality child care, and employing comprehensive community development approaches with a strong focus on wealth creation strategies.

William and Flora Hewlett Foundation
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation's broad purpose is to promote the well-being of humanity by supporting selected activities of a charitable nature, as well as organizations or institutions engaged in such activities. Hewlett Foundation seeks to accomplish that through a strong basic commitment to the voluntary, nonprofit sector that lies between industry and government, and to private philanthropy as of great value to society. Currently, The Foundation concentrates its resources on activities in- conflict resolution, education, environment, family and community development, performing arts, population, and U.S.-Latin American relations.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to apply knowledge to solve the problems of people. Its founder W.K. Kellogg, the cereal industry pioneer, established the Foundation in 1930. Since its beginning the Foundation has continuously focused on building the capacity of individuals, communities, and institutions to solve their own problems, with special emphasis on health, food systems & rural development, youth & education/higher education, and philanthropy and volunteerism.

Lumina Foundation for Education
Lumina Foundation for Education is a private, charitable foundation dedicated to expanding access to higher education nationwide. The Foundation is based on the belief that postsecondary education remains one of the most beneficial investments that individuals can make in themselves and that society can make in its people.
