NRFC developed a Theory of Change based on the idea that Rural Transformation can be achieved by achieving outcomes in the areas of Creating Community Wealth, Transforming Institutional Leadership, and Increasing Self Sufficient Families. It further believes that these outcomes can be achieved by regional strategies that enhance Practice, increase Philanthropy, and advance Policy, our field building efforts.
This framework was developed in conversations with our on-the-ground partners whose daily lives, professions, and legacy are intricately tied to the rural areas in which they serve. NRFC has been intentional in developing and refining its strategy for grantmaking, evaluation, and peer learning by allowing those who are based in these rural realities to inform and have a voice in this vision.
