Currently, NRFC's policy work with our Learning Network partners is involved in building a National Rural Policy Agenda in which partners can find common ground and understanding while representing the diverse issues and regions effecting rural America today.
This process is being facilitated by an organized sub-committee of the Steering Committee that is focused on Policy, and a Policy Caucus of the Learning Network. These two groups have discussed multiple issue areas for NRFC's work to focus, and have culled the options down to three topics.
-Rural Development in a Global Age -The Ownership Society -The Federal Budget and Cuts to Community and Economic Development
Each of the topic areas are currently engaging Issue Advisory Groups to work together to develop strategies, identify targets and encourage the network to take action.
