The Secure America and Orderly Immigration Act comprehensively reforms immigration, allowing persons who have been living and working in the U.S., who pay their taxes, learn English, and otherwise obey the law, to earn permanent legal status over time. 

8/16/05           Dueling Pieces of Predatory Lending Legislation

The House of Representatives is simultaneously considering two bills that could radically transform predatory lending – for better or for worse. While one bill sets strong minimum standards for mortgage lending nationally (modeled on North Carolina’s legislation), the other supersedes state legislation, nullifying truly progressive anti-predatory lending policies in the states, and providing only minimal protection for consumers.
